Each year, WPG seeks to assist social service agencies and non-profit organizations in the Greater Houston area. The WPG Community Service Grant supports a non-profit organization which provides services to women or youth.
The 2011 WPG Community Service Grant recipient is the World Youth Foundation, Inc. (WYF). Karen Franklin serves as WYF Chairman & CEO. In April, WYF marked its 20th anniversary. WYF brings many resources to youth and their families in the Greater Houston area. Its mission is to "Teach All Youth How to Win in Life Against All Odds!" WYF focuses on serving as an avenue for increasing positive growth in youth ages eight to eighteen. Each year, WYF hosts a leadership/mentoring program in Houston. Leadership/mentoring program participants have the opportunity to attend an annual Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.
On October 25, 2010, Regina Dickson served as Principal for a Day.

I arrived at the school at approximately 7:45 a.m. to find my name flashing on the electronic bill board WELCOME PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY MRS. REGINA DICKSON. I was quite surprised of the warm welcome. I was met at the front door of the school by Principal Khalilah Campbell. My day began with putting out fires on the campus immediately. The Principal, two Assistant Principals and I rode around on a golf cart all morning from class to class. One issue after another, however, they were all resolved in an expeditious manner. I was even asked how I would handle one of the issues and my advice was utilized in the resolution.
After a full morning, all of the Principals for a Day volunteers and their school principal was invited to the Intercontinental Hotel in the Galleria for a luncheon banquet. We were all acknowledged, thanked and awarded with a desk name plate with our names on it. The name plate reads as follows:

I committed to staying in touch with the Principal Campbell and perhaps serving at the same school next year
